The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) strengthens the right of individuals in the European Union (EU) to control their personal data. GDPR requires organisations to bolster their privacy and data protection measures.
GDPR applies to organisations established in the European Union (EU) as well as organisations – wherever they are located. It is relevant for organisations that offer goods and services to the EU or monitor the behaviour of individuals in the EU.
Enforcement of the regulation begins on 25 May 2018.
